The 2018 Toyota Tundra is expected to come with a V8 5.0 liter Cummins turbo diesel engine that will produce 300 hp. The pickup will feature an eight-speed transmission instead of the traditional six-speed transmission. With competition heating up in this segment, there is a high possibility that Tundra’s towing capacity will receive a major boost. The truck may feature a stylized grille and headlight cluster. In a bid to boost the truck’s fuel efficiency, Toyota may use an improved oil burner.
2. Ford Raptor
The Raptor is undoubtedly one of the best off-road trucks on the market today. The 2018 version of the Rator is expected to come with the highly sought after ten-speed transmission. The truck will feature a specially designed bumper. For better safety and enhanced off-road capabilities, Ford is expected to use military grade steel in the body. The truck will feature an expanded tailgate and leather seats.
3. Ram 1500
The 2018 Ram 1500 is expected to receive major engine updates, with the horsepower hovering around the 400 mark. The entry level models will feature a six-speed transmission and the upgraded models will come with an eight speed transmission. On the design front, Ford may have a surprise for its fans as the 1500 is expected to feature split tailgates, and stow and go seats.
4. Ford F-150
The F-150 is the undisputed king of full sized pickup trucks. The 2018 model will feature a turbo diesel engine capable of producing 450 horsepower. The truck will receive an upgrade to the front hood and grille area. The F-150 will feature SYNC Connect, FORDPASS, and an 8” productivity screen that will provide useful info including fuel economy and towing data.
