In 2001, Suzuki introduced a speed monster that sports bike riders loved instantly. We are talking about the GSX-R1000 motor bike. It had similar features to the earlier R750 model.
Some of the differences between these two versions are that the R1000 has a larger frame and the material used in it is thicker (.5 mm). The lightweight GSX-R1000 was one of the top-performing sports bikes on the road since it hit the market. Its 1000 cc four-stroke, four-cylinder engine has the power and acceleration to speed up quickly. This is a true street bike built with the latest technology and expertise coming from Suzuki that made it exclusively to rule the streets.
A Superbike or just a Sports bike?
Suzuki put the GSX-R1000 model on the road as its signature model, and called it the ‘Superbike.’ The reason behind the name could be because this motor bike is a blend of raw aggression, impressive looks and power-packed performance. Additionally, this bike gives a smooth riding experience and feeling of control, which made it a sports bikers’ favorite.
One in a Million!
Towards the end of 2012, Suzuki brought out the 2013 GSX-R1000 ‘One Millionth’ Special Edition model to celebrate the long and successful journey of this awesome motorbike. The special edition was made distinctively with its red nose cone and unique paint scheme. In addition to that, the bike had black Brembo Monoblock callipers with gold lettering, gold forks, wheel stripes, a special tank graphic and a few other features.
In late 2013, Suzuki unleashed the 2014 GSX-R1000SE, which is another limited edition motorcycle. Only 100 units of this bike were to be produced in the world, and out of them 50 were to be sold in the US.
